The clients wanted a Finnish log house for their infill site in Sheffield. A standard plan was enlarged and adapted to create a distinctive home with a large open plan living, dining and kitchen area, extending the full height of the building. The main bedroom and en-suite shower room were formed as a mezzanine, with a second bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor.
The kit of parts came from Finland and was erected by specialists. The client installed all the services, the fittings and finishes. A central wood burning stove provides most of the heat for the house.
